How it works
The page reads the PDF in your browser and finds every line of real text, the kind you could select in a PDF viewer. When you change one, the old words are covered with a patch in the colour behind them, and your words are written on top in the same size and colour, in the closest standard PDF font: Helvetica, Times or Courier, bold or italic to match.
What to know before you rely on it
The old words are covered, not deleted. They stay in the file underneath, so selecting, searching or copying the text can still find them. Do not use this to hide anything confidential.
The font is the nearest match, not the original. A changed line switches to Helvetica, Times or Courier, so a line in an unusual font will look slightly different.
English and Western European letters only. The standard PDF fonts cannot write ₹, Devanagari or other scripts yet. The page tells you if a character will not work.
Scans have no text to find. A scanned page is a picture. It only works if the scan was run through OCR and has a text layer.
Password-protected PDFs are refused. Limits are 5 MB and 50 pages.
